Using Enzymes Therapeutically
I've been trying out the concept of using enzymes therapeutically which basically means between meals. I am using a protease blend which has peptizyde/DPP IV. The concept behind it (from my admittedly limited knowledge) is that taking the supplements without any food in the system (an hour before you eat or two hours after you eat) allows the enzymes to work on the bits of baddies (undigested food and any build up inside the intestines, as well as whatever claim the product makes about its other healthy properties) in your system.
So far, I am not sold on it.
To be fair, I might not be taking it enough throughout the day to see the proper effects (with the suggested time frame of when to take it, I miss my windows of opportunity sometimes). Or perhaps I am not taking what my body needs. Regardless, I still think that if a product does what it claims to do, you should see some noticeable results and frankly, I haven't noticed any.
I will continue to try this out at least until the bottle is gone but...at this point, my personal opinion is that while enzymes can be very effective with digesting meals, I am skeptical that it works therapeutically between them. If my opinion changes, I will write about it.
