Finding Help In Your Area
It can be difficult to find programs and establishments meant to help you. Doctors don't know every place that is available in the area that you live in which you could benefit from. It's not their fault. In fact, I think it would make sense that doctors recieve updates on programs and organizations in the area that could help their patients. When I am Empress of the Universe, I will make sure I organize a panel of individuals whose job it is to do so.
My advice to you is to use your internet search engine and your telephone book. Search for details on the hospital and the divisions of that hospital that can be of help to you. This is how I found out there was not only a chronic pain centre in my city, but aquatic programs for people who suffer from illnesses such as fibromyalgia.
Doctors are generally very pleased to find out you've done your own searches and are pro-active in your own recovery. Mine was very happy to write me a referral.
Now I just have to get in touch with the program to see if they have room for me.
Don't be afraid to email or call places to ask questions. You might be shocked to find out what is available in your own back yard.
