Ah Stress

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Sun, 10/22/2006 - 12:15am.

I didn't even bother checking when my last post was. I can't bare to peek. I'm surprised my website is even speaking to me. But even if it wasn't, you are. I continue to receive emails from people who find the site useful, and that is wonderful. I've done my best to respond to all of them, but if I've missed anyone, please forgive me and know that your email was appreciated.

Food: The Love/Hate Relationship

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Sat, 04/29/2006 - 10:52am.

Even though most of it makes me sick, I still love food. There are few things I get excited about, and food is one of them. I thought I would share a passage just to make a lighter post. It's from A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh, and it captures my love for food:

"When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?"

"What's for Breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"

"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.

Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said.

Using An Exercise Ball

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Tue, 03/14/2006 - 2:59pm.

I have in my livingroom a big red bouncy ball. I purchased it on sale. It came with a long rubber band and a pilates cd. The pilates cd was nice and simple. I can do all of the exercises except for one.

Exercise Solution: My Big Red Bouncy Ball

*bounce bounce bounce*

I'm sitting on it right now. Bouncing away as I type. Watch.

See? It's a fun toy. Not only that, it's the first real thing that I have found in my journey towards lessening my aches and gaining my strength (and hopefully, my waist size) back. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

The Craziness of Fibro and Fatigue or "Why My Pants Don't Fit Anymore"

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Sun, 01/29/2006 - 10:17am.

Like many people who suffer from food intolerance, fatigue and joint pain (or other health problems), I have put on weight. I think it's safe to say that I have gained 15 pounds in the last year.

A Word on Creation (Not God, but Websites)

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Sun, 01/29/2006 - 9:53am.

This website was created using Drupal, and I get a lot of traffic from their website. I also get emails now and then about who designed my site and how I manage it, etc. Recently I received one from somebody checking the references of the web developer that built my site for me. Problem was, I had never even HEARD of the company he was asking about. So a word of caution out there to anyone hiring a web developer: ALWAYS follow up and check their references.

Who developed my website? The fabulous Be Circle. I have a link to their site at the bottom left corner of my page.

The Dangerous Holiday Season

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Sat, 12/24/2005 - 10:08am.

First let me say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone out there. I hope whatever type of celebration you have is filled with joy and love.

And now the rant.

It's happened. Christmas wipe out. You know what I am talking about. Indulging in treats at gatherings. Falling into a spell at the grocery store, blanking on the whole experience, only to open the freezer door the next morning and think "Holy crap...who brought perogies and french bread into the house?"

Thank you

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Tue, 11/15/2005 - 3:56pm.

Even though I have been silent on the website over the last few months, I still checked my emails. I would like to make a public thank you to those who have emailed me and told me that this site has been helpful in your journey while you try to track down information. It makes all the work worthwhile :)

And remember: even if I am not posting, I am still lurking so feel free to leave me a note.

Insult to Injury (in the retail world)

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Tue, 11/15/2005 - 3:44pm.

Besides having trouble with low energy and digestion, I (like many of my readers) suffer from joint pain. It's been especially bad the past few months, but I am back to the point where I want to build strength. My best bet: gentle aquatics geared for people with fibro or arthritis or as rehabilitation/strength-building.

Part 2: What Do You Mean, Stop Taking The Pill?

Submitted by Miss Danielle on Fri, 07/22/2005 - 6:03pm.

*WARNING* To anyone who may know me personally, this might be more in depth than you care to delve.

As I stated in my last blog, people with Candidiasis are encouraged to get off the pill. The pill can cause yeast infections (which we are prone to as it is) and also upsets your hormonal balance.

"It's called Nuva Ring", my doctor said as he held the square box in front of me. "Do you know were it goes?"

I fought a grin and said "Well...I'm assuming....(lifted eyebrows and random hand gestures)".

"Yes."

Great. Neither my doctor or I can say vagina in front of each other.
